On the 7th of October I was on my way to Zorgvliet to capture Helen & James wedding day, when it started raining. As some cultures believe its good luck when it rains on your wedding day, I just had a feeling it was going to be a fantastic day. The venue itself was so gorgeous, I stood in awe, just taking in the surroundings, and how Helen & Margaux (from Blank Canvas Event Design) worked together to make this wedding something completely different and stand out so much more compared to your traditional weddings. It broke all the traditional rules. They did the cutting of the cake outside, where they set up tables, chairs & sofas for the guests. While inside they also catered for those who didn’t want to sit outside, with a beautiful layout.
They had different type of food stalls, so that every guest could find a style/type of food they loved, was it sea food, steak, Moroccan, etc. They didn’t have a first dance, but instead let the married couples dance, and at the end the couple being married for the longest received the bouquet. They didn’t have a DJ, but actually hired a live band for guest to enjoy. They had 20 CAKES! Yes, 20. And they were ALL beautifully presented. There were Instax Mini camera’s for guests to take photos of themselves and place them inside an album, where you could write a note below. So many small but wonderful & precious moments. And of course Helen looked absolutely breathtaking, such a beautiful bride with her handsome groom! They looked as if they were from a magazine cover.
Thank you Helen & James, your wedding was a feast! <3
